Considering the recent catastrophic condo collapse in Surfside, Florida, public local officials are proactively taking steps to at least prevent such a tragedy. Both city and county officials have already evacuated many buildings that are deemed unsafe and are reviewing the 40-year recertification process for all the older ones.
In that process, the city of Aventura will mandate that all buildings associations to provide city officials with engineering and architectural reports within 24 hours of receiving such a report. More with the link below.
